Book 30: The Hunger Games

I had so many other books that I was meant to read before I got to this one, but I needed a light, easy read for my trip to Hawaii, so I picked this one up.

I was interested in reading it when I first saw the preview for the movie several weeks ago, but wasn't sure I'd get around to it. Turns out it was a perfect read for my flight. Unfortunately I finished it really quickly and wished I'd had the sequels with me!

I can't wait to read the other two and see the movie (it comes out this weekend).

Book 29: Storm of Swords

Um WOW. Storm of Swords was amazing. Definitely the best book so far.

Reading this made me so anxious for season two of Game of Thrones to start! Though the first season was pretty well matched with the first book, but based on some of the casting announcements I've seen for season two I expect that they're going to blend in a bit of book three in the new episodes.

I really love where the story is headed though. I can't wait to get started on Feast for Crows!

Book 28: A Clash of Kings

I finished the second book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series while on vacation this week and boy is it getting good!

A Clash of Kings picks up right where A Game of Thrones left off. There have been a lot of changes, some expected and some completely unexpected.

I can't wait to get started on A Storm of Swords! I heard that there are major plot events in the first and third books—I'm so anxious to read what happens next!

Book 27: A Game of Thrones

I recommend this series to everyone! Seriously. I didn't think I'd like it at all. A friend told me about the show on HBO and I was completely uninterested—all it took was the first episode and I was completely hooked. Once the first season ended I realized I had to read the series to find out what happens next. The show was faithful to the first book, the opening scene of the first episode and that last scene of the last episode correspond with the first and last chapters in the book.

I started the second book last night and it's already really good. HBO is currently filming the second season and I can't wait!

Book 26: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

It took me a long time to get to this book, but I've finally finished it! I expected to get hooked sooner based on what people said, but it took me almost 200 pages to really get into the story. Once I did it was great—well thought out and suspenseful.

Now I just have to decide whether to continue on and read the next book in the series, or start the Game of Thrones book. Decisions, decisions!

Book 25: The Help

The Help was such a good book!

The characters were so well written, and the story was great. I saw the trailer for the movie before I started the book, and while I'm interested to see how Emma Stone will pull of the role of Skeeter, I have to say that Bryce Dallas Howard seems like she'll be a perfect Hilly.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie now, but am so glad that I read the book first.

Book 24: If I Stay

I chose If I Stay on a whim—I was wandering in Barnes and Noble hoping that something that would catch my eye—and the "Will appeal to fans of Stephenie Meyer's TWILIGHT" on the cover of this book did the trick.

After reading the book, the only similarity I found was that this book was picked up by Summit Studios and will be directed by Catherine Hardwick, the director of the Twilight movie.

All in all it wasn't bad—but I can't say that I've been raving about it either.

Book 23: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

I'd lent this book to a friend, and when she returned it last weekend I realized that I'd read it since I started my blog and forgotten to post!

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is a novella about a character that is only briefly in the third Twilight book/movie, and describes the events of Eclipse from her point of view.

It was a quick read and I was happy to have more background on the character before I saw the Eclipse last fall.
