The Shack was okay, but I was disappointed. I started noticing a trend when several of my friends had this book listed among their favorites—so I figured I'd give it a read and see what all the hype was about. It wasn't bad, but it didn't touch me in the way that the review promised it would.
I think that the writer is truly gifted—I really felt like I was in some of the scenes he described. I also had a few "ah ha" moments when he perfectly worded concepts that I've never been able to describe myself. The overall concept was good, the story was good—but it just didn't do it for me.
Ah well, back to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!
